The BH2C Board of Directors confirms the intense activity in the Basque Country in initiatives for the deployment of the hydrogen economy.
The Board of Directors meeting of the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C) was held on 23 July at the EIC (Energy Intelligence Center) in the Abanto Technology Park.
Amongst other things during the meeting, the Board members confirmed the heavy involvement of the Basque sector in projects and initiatives related to hydrogen, highlighting the recent meetings of the different BH2C Verticals (Production; Transport, Distribution and Storage; Use in Industry and Use in Mobility), the technical conference on electrolysers and the meeting of the working group of the mobility demonstration project in Bizkaia.
Specifically, the Board of Directors celebrated the award of 160 million euros to the ‘Bilbao Large Scale Electrolyser’ project, led by Petronor/Repsol, which, with a capacity of 100 MW, will represent a new milestone among the main projects of the BH2C. At the same time, the Board has begun to assess the possibilities of the Basque Country in the future call for applications for grants for large-scale renewable hydrogen projects.
