BH2C presented as a successful cooperation initiative at an international event on the potential of hydrogen for Peripheral Maritime Regions.
The crucial role of ports and hydrogen technologies in advancing EU sustainability goals was explored at the seminar ‘Navigating the Future on Energy and Transport: the potential of hydrogen and marine ports for Peripheral Maritime Regions (PMR)’, held in Crete (Greece) from 5 to 6 November. At the seminar, particular attention was paid to hydrogen projects and the development of hydrogen valleys in peripheral maritime regions.
On Wednesday, 6 November, as part of Session 2: Success hydrogen stories from CPMR Regions - H2 projects and cooperation initiatives, José Ramón López, International Project Manager at the Basque Energy Agency (EVE), presented the hydrogen initiatives being taken forward in the Basque Country, including the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C).
In the course of the day, different speakers explored how peripheral maritime regions can become pioneers in the production and use of green hydrogen, boosting decarbonisation in key sectors such as transport, maritime ports and energy storage.
