Meeting of the Working Group of the Mobility Demonstration Project in Bizkaia at the Irizar plant.

The third meeting of the Working Group of the Mobility Demonstration Project in Bizkaia, which brings together the different players involved in taking the project forward, was held today, Friday 19 July 2024, at the Irizar plant facilities in Ormaiztegi.

The working group, promoted by the BH2C technical office, includes representatives from Repsol's H2 mobility distribution and dispensing logistics area, from the project to deploy a fleet of buses in Bizkaia managed by the Department of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, and from Irizar's H2 bus prototype project. The remit of the group is to report on and share the progress being made in the different initiatives designed to meet the needs of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia to decarbonise its lines, thus promoting the deployment of hydrogen mobility in the province.

Specifically today, the attendees were able to try out the Irizar i6S Efficient Hydrogen bus, which has recently been validated in a real environment and approved to operate in all EU countries. Irizar thus reaffirms its commitment to hydrogen as a solution to the problem of decarbonisation on long-distance and heavy transport lines.
