Mikel Jauregi, Basque Government Minister for Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability, visits Petronor to learn about its commitment to decarbonisation and the energy transition.

Mikel Jauregi, Basque Government Minister for Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability, has visited the Petronor plant in Muskiz to learn first-hand about the activity of Petronor and the projects they have underway to support decarbonisation through industry and technology.

In addition to touring the refinery facilities, the Minister was able to learn about all the different actions being taken to produce increasingly renewable fuels by incorporating organic waste such as used vegetable oils and waste from biomass and the agri-food industry.

He then visited the first 2.5MW electrolyser that generates renewable hydrogen in the Basque Country, and was able to see at first hand other projects being rolled out to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
