Representatives of the National Oil Company of Chile visit Petronor to learn about the Basque Hydrogen Corridor.

Representatives of the National Oil Company of Chile have visited the Petronor plant in Muskiz to learn about the company's activities and latest projects focused on the energy transition and rooted in technology, industry and sustainability.

The delegation was welcomed by Manu Núñez, Director of Petronor Innovation, who explained all the investments being made to achieve zero net emissions by 2050, including the first electrolyser in the Basque Country that generates renewable hydrogen and which has been in operation since October 2023. This 2.5MW electrolyser will be used both to decarbonise fuel production at the refinery itself and to supply green hydrogen to the Abanto Zierbana Technology Park using a hydrogen pipeline linking the two facilities.

The visit to the refinery focused on acquiring first-hand knowledge of Petronor's operations and the company's strategic positioning in new products to contribute to the energy transition, with technology and industry as key factors in this process.
