The seminar on Renewable Fuels brings together leading transport companies to discuss the current challenge of energy transformation.
Orkestra - Basque Institute of Competitiveness - and Petronor jointly held a seminar on Thursday, 6 July, on Renewable Fuels as a solution that contributes to sustainable mobility. The event took place in the new Energy Intelligence Center building on the Abanto Campus of the Euskadi Technology Park, and brought together leading transport companies such as Petronor, Repsol, ALSA, Scania, CAF and Talgo to talk about the current challenge of energy transformation in transport. Emiliano López Atxurra, Chairman of Petronor, stressed the importance of the need to work continuously and constantly to ensure energy sustainability, assuring those present that, in this respect, "Petronor is a key player". Jose Ignacio Zudaire, deputy CEO of Petronor, took part in a round table at the seminar and stressed that the transformation towards sustainability revolves around two key concepts: the circular economy, and renewable hydrogen and its derivatives. According to Zudaire, this fuel "provides a solution for some sectors that will find it difficult to make any headway in this process by any other means", such as the aviation sector. Iván Martén Uliarte, president of Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness, wound up the event by stressing the need for a stable and appropriate regulatory framework that generates confidence.
