Solaris wins three hydrogen bus contracts in Germany, the Czech Republic and France.
Solaris has announced three new hydrogen bus orders for cities in Germany, the Czech Republic and France, thereby consolidating its position as Europe's leading hydrogen bus manufacturer.
In the German market, the operator REVG Kerpen has ordered 26 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses, equipped with 70 kW hydrogen fuel cells, and Solaris High Power batteries to back up the operation of the vehicles during periods of peak demand. Germany is making a clear commitment to hydrogen technology, with Solaris buses operating in Cologne, Wuppertal, Weimar, Frankfurt, Gross-Zimmern, Aschaffenburg and the Munich metropolitan area. In the coming months, Güstrow, Gross-Gerau, Hamburg, Gummersbach and Duisburg will also receive their new vehicles.
The Czech company Martin Uher Bus has ordered ten Urbino 12 hydrogen buses for the Central Bohemia region around Prague, which are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2025. This is the first Solaris hydrogen bus project in the region, with the vehicles being powered by hydrogen produced from 100% green electricity from the nearby Vrané nad Vltavou hydropower plant.
In addition, Solaris continues to expand its business in France, in this case with a project for the city of Belfort, where it will deliver eight articulated hydrogen buses. The vehicles will be purchased by SMTC, a public company that groups together the transport operators in the area. This is the third order in recent months for Solaris hydrogen buses in France, following contracts for Artois Mobilités and Ile-de-France Mobilités.
