Project description
This project consists of the setting up of a "Living Lab"to develop and showcase activities on the possibilities offered by hydrogen for different sectors, such as long-haul goods transport and aviation and heat generation and cogeneration for commercial and/or residential buildings. The test centre will be geared towards activities that contribute to mobility and the decarbonisation of industrial processes.

Impacto medioambiental
The project will contribute to the development of the hydrogen economy and will address certain key environmental challenges, such as:
- the reduction of emissions in hard-to-abate sectors, i.e. those in which, with existing technologies, it is not possible to move towards decarbonisation (long-distance freight transport, aviation, chemicals, steel, etc.) and the efficient integration of renewable energies in the electricity system; and
- the decarbonisation of energy, a key issue in the fight against climate change. In this respect, hydrogen can make a significant contribution to supply security (reducing dependence on third parties in terms of the availability of fossil fuels, as at present), to reducing urban pollution (NOX, pollutant particles, etc.) and to economic development.
