Nordex Electrolyzers hosts the 5th meeting of the BH2C Production Vertical at its facilities in Lumbier (Navarra), and showcases its 500kW electrolyser.

On Wednesday 5 March, the fifth meeting of the Production Vertical of the Basque Hydrogen Corridor was held at the Nordex Electrolyzers facilities in Lumbier (Navarra). The meeting of the Vertical, led by Enagás Renovable and Petronor, brought together 27 representatives from 17 different organisations.

On this occasion, the meeting was held as part of a visit to the company that manufactures alkaline electrolysers, Nordex Electrolyzers, a joint venture between the Nordex Group, one of the world's largest wind turbine manufacturers, and Sodena, a business development company owned by the Regional Government of Navarre. As part of the visit, the group was shown the testing facilities and the first prototype of a 500 kW pressurised alkaline electrolyser, the largest of its kind in Spain and designed, manufactured and assembled in the region.

In the meeting itself, Javier Perea, from Petronor, provided an update on the latest developments of the projects and initiatives in the Vertical, as well as the most relevant regulatory aspects for the sector in recent months and, more specifically, the last few days, with the new announcements of the Clean Industrial Deal. Also present was Irene Hurtado, from Nordex Electrolyzers, who provided an overview of the company's history, its progression from wind power to the manufacture of electrolysers, and its short to medium-term strategy.

To end the day, Javier Fernandez de Manzanos, also from Nordex Electrolyzers, led a visit to the testing plant, where the 500kW pressurised alkaline electrolyser is currently located. The group was given an explanation of the complete system and also had the opportunity to see the equipment in operation.
