The Abanto Campus of the Basque Country Technology Park, a collaborative ecosystem for companies in the hydrogen sector.
The Abanto Campus of the Basque Country Technology Park is a key location for connecting companies and stakeholders involved in the energy transition. The campus is home to major organisations in the energy, hydrogen and renewable fuels sectors, with companies such as Petronor, Petronor Innovación, Alba, Ibil and EVsare already established there and AMPO, Tubacex, Tubos Reunidos and Vicinay due to set up operations there in the near future.
The Abanto Campus is structured as a collaborative ecosystem for the development of new technological solutions and prototypes for sectors such as hydrogen and renewable fuels (the campus is home to the headquarters of the BH2C and the EIC Foundation, respectively). It also promotes the exchange of knowledge and its transfer to leading companies in the sector. The various events and conferences held in the park also raise the profile of the work of the companies in the specialised media.
In a short video recorded on his experience in this field, Rafael Canales Larrazabal, Coordinator of the new Bureau Veritas hydrogen laboratory, highlights the commitment of the Abanto Campus to companies working in the field of energy transition, and the opportunity this ecosystem provides to generate new projects and initiatives. Likewise, for Nieves Murillo, R&D&I Director at Calvera Hydrogen Innovation, the fact that the company has its offices in the Abanto Campus means they can work closely with other companies, both customers and suppliers, and technology centres.
