
BH2C, Nortegas, CNH2, AMPO, Calvera and IDOM take part in the first Aragón Hydrogen Week.
The first Aragon Hydrogen Week, organised by the Fundación Hidrógeno Aragón (Aragon Hydrogen Foundation) in collaboration with the Regional Government of Aragon, was held from 10 to 14 March, with a view to promoting hydrogen technology in the region and reaffirming its commitment to the energy transition. Companies, public organisations and industry experts, including representatives from key organisations such as Nortegas, the National Hydrogen Centre (CNH2), AMPO, Calvera Hydrogen and IDOM, took part in the various events organised during the week.
Mar Vaquero, Vice-President and Minister of the President's Office, the Economy and Justice of the Regional Government of Aragon, opened the event on 10 March, highlighting the importance of hydrogen not only for decarbonisation and for delivering European climate targets, but also for the economic opportunity that the sector represents.
On Tuesday 11 March, as part of the session on the Ebro Hydrogen Corridor, Izaskun Gorostiaga, General Manager of Strategy and Sustainability at Nortegas, and on behalf of the BH2C, took part in a round table panel discussion on the hydrogen valleys of the Basque Country, Navarre, Aragon and Catalonia. In her address, she emphasised the importance and maturity of the BH2C as a key ecosystem for the decarbonisation of industry, energy and mobility in the Basque Country. Ms Gorostiaga also underlined the importance of the National Alliance of Hydrogen Valleys in its role of providing a single common voice in the hydrogen sector. On the same day, Calvera Hydrogen, IDOM and AMPO all shared their technology and experience in the renewable hydrogen sector during the Ebro industries elevator pitch.
The fifth edition of the RENMAD Hydrogen Congress was held on 12 and 13 March. In the round table entitled ‘Ecosystem of national renewable hydrogen valleys and future projections’ organised on Wednesday 12 March, Emilio Nieto from CNH2 gave a presentation on the Alliance of Hydrogen Valleys BH2C, discussing its relevance in the energy transition and the future challenges for its implementation.
