The Green Gas Mobility Summit, the leading event on sustainable transport in the Iberian Peninsula and organised by Gasnam-Neutral Transport, was held on 20 and 21 September in La Nave, Madrid. The event included a panel discussion on the hydrogen valleys in Spain. These corridors, in areas with great potential for developing hydrogen production, storage and distribution projects, are a clear example of collaboration between industry, government and research institutions to develop innovative technologies and solutions in the transport sector. Irene Lores (BP), Business Development Manager Hydrogen - Spain; Olivia Infantes Morales (CEPSA), Regulatory Affairs Director - Hydrogen and Clean Power; Izaskun Gorostiaga (Nortegas), General Director of Strategy and Sustainability; Ohiana Goicoechea Ruiz de Escudero (Naturgy), Hydrogen Business Development Manager; and Miguel Mayrata Vicens (Redexis), Director of Business Diversification, discussed the obstacles being encountered in the development of the respective hydrogen valleys they represent (Andalusia, Valencia, the Basque Country, Galicia and the Balearic Islands) and the opportunities and challenges that these ambitious renewable hydrogen generation initiatives represent. Izaskun Gorostiaga participated in the panel discussion on behalf of the BH2C, sharing the challenges and opportunities which exist for making renewable hydrogen a reality in the Basque Country. Ms. Gorostiaga addressed the various issues that were raised in terms of obstacles encountered when preparing the Hydrogen Valley project, the type of business model or the points that should not be missing in the next call for the line of promotion of renewable hydrogen clusters or valleys of the PERTE ERHA - Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation / Renewable Energies, Hydrogen and Storage - Hydrogen Innovation Value Chain.
