Enagás executive Abel Enríquez to head the European Network of Network Operators for Hydrogen.
Abel Enríquez, Enagás Head of EU Affairs and Organisations, has been appointed Director of the European Network of Network Operators for Hydrogen (ENNOH). With this key appointment, Enagás reinforces its leadership in the European hydrogen sector.
Created by a European legislative mandate, the main mission of ENNOH will be to promote the development and proper functioning of the internal hydrogen market and to facilitate cross-border flows. The association will focus on ensuring the optimal management, coordinated operation and appropriate technical evolution of the future European hydrogen transmission network.
One of the tasks of ENNOH is to draw up the Ten Year European Network Development Plan (TYNDP), which will include all associated infrastructure developments, and will cooperate closely with the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSOE) and the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) to identify synergies, promote sectoral integration, achieve cost-efficient decarbonisation of the European energy system, and help deliver EU energy and climate objectives.
Other tasks of the future organisation include drafting market rules and network codes and providing technical recommendations in multiple areas to ensure an efficient and effective operation of the future European hydrogen system.
