Enagás to launch a call for expressions of interest to gauge the amount of interest in consuming green hydrogen in Spanish industry.
Enagás has set 14 September as the launch date for the non-binding call for interest process for the first axes of a future hydrogen backbone network in Spain. In doing so, the company, a board member of the BH2C, will begin to gather data on hydrogen market supply and demand from Spanish industry as it moves forward with its plans to build domestic and international hydrogen hubs, which are currently pending receipt of substantial grants from the European Union. Enagás is positioning itself to play an important role in the Spanish and European energy transition, moving from its traditional role as a natural gas network operator to the management of a hydrogen infrastructure network. Arturo Gonzaloi Aizpiri, CEO of Enagás, announced yesterday that the company will launch a call for expressions of interest on 14 September to find out who are the main potential customers and suppliers of its planned Spanish hydrogen backbone network.
