Irizar validates its i6S Efficient Hydrogen coach, in collaboration with Repsol and Calvera Hydrogen.
Irizar has validated its i6S Efficient Hydrogen FCEV model for long-distance service in a field test run in collaboration with Repsol and Calvera Hydrogen. The Irizar coach refuelled at Repsol's portable hydrogen refuelling station, developed by Calvera Hydrogen, at the El Cisne 1 service station in Zaragoza.
In this road trial, the Irizar i6S Efficient Hydrogen coach demonstrated a range of 850 kilometres on a zero-emissions journey. The refuelling at the Repsol station also verified the hydrogen loading capacity at 100% of the vehicle's capacity.
The Irizar i6S Efficient Hydrogen FCEV model received the Bus of the Year 2024 Award in Spain at the Busworld International Fair, the ninth time that Irizar has received this award. This vehicle has a range of up to 1,000 kilometres and minimum charging times of around 20 minutes. Irizar highlights the high durability of the main components of the hydrogen-powered bus, with batteries that accompany the vehicle throughout its useful life and a fuel cell that will require maintenance after approximately 30,000 hours of operation.
